Job Description: Metas Solutions has an
"immediate opening" for an experienced
Communications Specialist to support the Business Management Office and Policy, and its strategic communications and employee engagement priorities, as determined by the client, to integrate initiatives, activities, and events with agency-wide implications. This includes creative and impactful multi-modal communication/engagement strategies and products that demonstrate the impact of activities on agency and public health mission priorities. Also, design and deploy employee engagement events and activities that align to key elements on the employee engagement survey.
Responsibilities: - Develop creative and impactful communication/engagement strategies.
- Create and deploy multi-modal communications products, tailored by audience segmentation, that demonstrate the impact of client-led activities on agency and public health mission priorities.
- Evaluate communication channels and vehicles to best inform partners and collaborators.
- Provide support for partnership activities, approximately 3 per quarter. Examples of partnership activities include preparing written remarks, presentations for engagements with external partners such as State Health Departments, Non-governmental organizations, and private corporates.
- Provide ongoing strategic communication support, including expanding routine communications, for situational awareness.
- Develop and provide templates and additional materials to increase consistency across communications.
- Create corporate communications, strategic communications plans, community outreach plans, special events planning, and social media content.
- Design and deploy with input from the client, employee engagement events and activities that align to key elements on the employee engagement survey.
Qualifications and Requirements: - Bachelor's degree from a four (4) year accredited university in Public Health, Computer Science/Statistics/Data Science preferred, Engineering or other technical area.
- Master's degree (Master of Public Health) is preferred but not required.
- Three to five (3-5) years of relevant experience, preferably within a federal agency, public health organization, or state-based public health program.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
