Job Description

• • Operate surface grinders and belt sanders.
  • Operate vertical mills.
  • Use measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Operate Okamoto dressing EDM
  • Operate Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Charmilles and Wire EDM machines.
  • Operate Makino and Charmilles sinker EDM machines.
  • Operate Current small hole EDM machine.
  • Operate Milltronics multi-axis jig driller.
  • Provides basic operations support in areas not directly associated with this category (for which adequate training has been provided and direction given, such as Ultrasonic Impact Grinding).
  • Using G&M codes or conversational language, program all EDM machines and multi-axis drillers.
  • Utilize AUTOCAD and Esprit to design tooling and fixtures based on part print provided.
  • Ensures procurement of materials in a timely manner to meet tooling/fixture production deadlines.
  • Work with UM operators and management to resolve tooling issues.

• Qualifications:
  • •Must be a high school graduate or have a general education degree (GED). An associate's degree or greater is preferred.
  •One or more years EDM experience.
  •Ability to work effectively individually and in a team environment.
  •Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  •Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  •Ability to communicate effectively with employees or other departments of the organization.
  •Ability to calculate figures and amounts using basic math.
  •Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  •Ability to pay close attention to details.
  •Ability to assess drawings and specifications for machining and inspection results.
  •Ability to utilize computer applications such as; Word processing, Spreadsheets, Internet software, E-mail, Manufacturing software, and Database software.
  
  
  Ability to attain sufficient task success to establish credibility with management, staff and employees.
