**Overview**
**JOB PURPOSE:**
Responsible for providing support to managers and employees including administering employment policies and practices and researching and/or investigating employee concerns. Makes recommendations that effectively promote positive employee relations. Conducts basic work place investigations, and recommends solutions for addressing basic workplace issues and corrective action in accordance with Company policy and applicable laws. Provides coaching and guidance in a professional and efficient manner. Reports to the Senior Manager, HRBP and Employee Relations.
**Responsibilities**
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**
+ Serves as a consultant and advisor to field management and employees on HR-related issues/opportunities, company culture, and policy/procedure interpretation
+ Develops investigation plan for basic workplace investigations; may assist with more complex investigations to assign proper resources, gather evidence, and maintain contact with involved parties
+ Identifies the company policies and practices that are relevant to the case in order to identify when a violation of company policy has occurred; based on the findings, researches and recommends the action(s) to take to appropriately resolve the case
+ Develops clearly written investigative summaries after investigation is concluded
+ Researches relevant laws, regulations, policies, and precedent decisions to prepare for and advise management regarding employee relations and general human resources issues
+ Provides guidance and interpretation of standards to ensure consistency in the execution of policies and procedures
+ Establishes credibility throughout the organization with management and the employees to be an effective listener and problem solver of people issues
+ Acts as a positive change agent, identifying opportunities and leading process improvements within the organization to increase efficiencies and maximize employee potential
+ Performs other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**
**EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:**
+ Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required
+ 2+ years of Employee Relations experience or Human Resources related experience
+ Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Human Resources information systems
+ Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or HRCI Certified Human Resources Professional (PHR) preferred or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment
**GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:**
+ Strong knowledge of employment and HR related laws, regulations, principles, concepts and practices, Federal and State Wage & Hour regulations
+ Ability to tactfully handle employee relations issues
+ Ability to be flexible in accordance with business needs
+ Ability to deal with conflict situations in a rational and constructive manner
+ Ability to interact and partner effectively with all levels of the organization and with employees
+ Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information
+ Ability to provide excellent customer service with strong interpersonal skills
+ Has excellent follow through and attention to detail
+ Highly organized with a bias for action and an ability to prioritize and plan time/resources accordingly, in a fast paced, high pressured environment
+ Well-developed written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external parties
+ Works with trustworthiness and integrity and has a clear commitment to Affordable Cares core values and principles
+ Ability to operate effectively under stressful circumstances; works with a flexible, adaptable and resilient manner
+ Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity in supporting a diverse environment
+ Has a capacity to make accurate self-assessments
