Job Summary Salary to be commensurate with qualifications
This position has an anticipated work schedule of Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm, subject to change. Under FLSA guidelines, this position is non-exempt. Please be advised this position may close on or after 07/20/2024, without advance notice, should we receive a sufficient number of qualified applications.
This position examines information concerning property to determine how to reflect changes in property configuration and ownership on maps or other recording systems within the Assessor's Office.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities - Reviews legal descriptions of property, plats, or related information involving changes in property valuation or ownership; determines how to record changes. Enters data into the computer system.
- Records, enters data, or otherwise processes information pertaining to the property owner.
- Creates and maintains databases as needed to perform department duties.
- Interacts with other departments for the purpose of determining the correct property information to correlate with the correct legal information.
- Matches map features, such as parcels, to their identifying numbers and addresses, then uses computer systems to find and correct such map features.
- Operates GIS software to print and/or plot maps as necessary.
- Provides assistance to other County employees and the public by answering questions, resolving problems, and explaining procedures.
- Performs other duties as required.
Supervision Exercised: This classification does not have supervisory authority; however, may be required to provide expertise or limited guidance or direction to employees, such as overseeing work quality, training, and guidance. Typically serves as a subject matter expert on the scope of functional area.
Supervision Received: Receives general supervision. This classification typically performs job duties by following established standard operating procedures and/or policies. Regular direction, guidance, and coaching from supervisor may be expected. There is a choice of the appropriate procedure or policy to apply to duties. Performance reviewed periodically.
Qualifications Knowledge, Skills & Abilities - Must be detail-oriented and ensure accuracy in work.
- Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to efficiently plan, schedule, and organize.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with County staff and the public. Ability to provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to provide accurate information and possess a high level of attention to detail.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Required Education & Experience - High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Two years of administrative experience.
Preferred Education & Experience - Two years of administrative experience in a title company or real estate appraisal environment.
Pre-Employment Requirements - Must pass conditional post offer background investigation and drug screen.
Work Conditions Duties are primarily performed in an office environment.
