PeopleTec is currently seeking a Nuclear Engineer to support our Ogden, UT location.

The selected candidate will be a member of our dynamic Hill Air Force Base team in Ogden, Utah and a classified Government contract on Hill Air Force Base addressing cyber security requirements and services and will assist with the development and implementation of information assurance (IA), and security standards and procedures.

These disciplines and capabilities include areas such as acquisition, administration, business analysis, cybersecurity, engineering, Digital Engineering, finance, integration, mission effectiveness, Nuclear Surety, Program Management, research, risk management, science, strategy development, sustaining engineering, systems engineering, system safety and security, and technical assessment. • Understanding and developing solutions to support emerging needs in a dynamic environment
• Planning, implementing, testing, documenting, and maintaining solutions for the integration and testing of products
• Providing solutions that directly support the Governments mission in terms of cost, schedule, performance, and risk
• Supporting effective and responsive Systems Engineering and Integration throughout the life cycle of the contract by providing knowledge, experience, and resources

Duties:

• Performs tasks in conformity with the nuclear engineering mission of the SPO
• Actively participates in meetings and conferences
• Reviews problems and performs work necessary to make progress towards solutions
• Communicates with leadership
• Leads, guides and mentors junior engineers and facilitates learning

Required Skills/Experience :

• Understanding of radiation transport with emphasis on neutron and photon transport

• Understanding of nuclear fission/fusion processes, cross sections, and nuclear interactions

• Programming experience in Python, C++, Matlab, or Fortran

• Experience with simulation software such as MCNP, GEANT, or OpenMC

• Good written and verbal communication skills with ability to work in team-based setting or individually with minimal supervision

• Travel: 20%
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

Education Requirements :

• BS degree in Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or related field + 3 years of Experience OR MS degree in Nuclear Engineering, Physics or related field
